About us

About ExpertRolex

ExpertRolex is an independent UK-focused watch website covering Rolex models, reference differences and the details that shape how each watch looks and wears.

Our aim is simple: to make Rolex information easier to understand without turning every article into a sales pitch. We write about individual references, design changes, case proportions, dial layouts, bracelets, bezels and movement specifications, with particular attention to the details that matter when comparing Rolex replica watches.

Who We Are

ExpertRolex is written and edited by people who follow Rolex closely and enjoy looking beyond the model name on the dial. Our content is built around specific references and observable differences rather than vague claims about quality or value.

Nicholas Harcourt contributes articles on Rolex design, reference changes and replica watch comparisons. His work focuses on practical details such as case dimensions, dial proportions, bezel construction, bracelet design and the differences between current and previous generations.

We do not present our writers as authorised Rolex technicians, official dealers or professional authenticators unless that experience can be independently supported. The site is not affiliated with Rolex SA.

What We Cover

ExpertRolex concentrates on Rolex rather than trying to cover every watch brand. This gives us room to look more closely at individual families and references.

Our main subjects include:

  • Rolex Submariner
  • Rolex Daytona
  • Rolex GMT Master II
  • Rolex Datejust
  • Rolex Day Date
  • Rolex Explorer
  • Rolex Yacht Master
  • Rolex Oyster Perpetual
  • reference comparisons
  • case and dial changes between generations
  • bracelet and clasp details
  • replica watch design differences

We also occasionally discuss older or less common Rolex references when they help explain how the brand’s design has developed over time.

How We Review Watches

Our articles are based on reference specifications, publicly available manufacturer information, detailed photography and direct observations where available.

When comparing watches, we normally pay attention to:

  • Reference dimensions including diameter, thickness, lug proportions and overall wrist presence.
  • Dial details such as marker shape, typography, hand proportions, date windows and colour.
  • Case finishing including polished and brushed surfaces, bezel shape and lug profile.
  • Bracelet construction including taper, link shape, clasp design and integration with the case.
  • Movement architecture where reliable technical information is available.
  • Usability including legibility, comfort and how different case sizes wear in everyday use.

For replica watch articles, we focus on visible and documented differences rather than relying on labels such as “AAA”, “1:1” or “super clone” as proof of quality. Those terms are used inconsistently across the market and do not replace a proper comparison of the watch itself.

Our Editorial Approach

We write for readers first, not for search engines.

Search visibility matters to any independent website, but keywords do not determine our conclusions. We do not change an opinion simply because a particular phrase may rank well, and we avoid repeating the same search terms when they add nothing to the article.

Where possible, articles are structured around a specific question, reference or comparison. This helps readers find useful information without having to work through generic descriptions or repeated promotional claims.

We also try to distinguish clearly between factual specifications and editorial judgement. Measurements, reference numbers and movement details should be verifiable. Comments about proportions, appearance or wearability are presented as observations rather than absolute facts.

Accuracy and Sources

Rolex references can change over time, and details may differ between generations, markets or production periods. We therefore check technical information against reliable sources wherever possible before publication.

When an article discusses a newly released model, we may update it as more complete specifications or clearer imagery become available.

We do not intentionally present speculation as confirmed information.

Corrections

If you notice an incorrect reference number, specification, date or other factual error in one of our articles, please contact us and identify the page concerned.

We will review the information and correct material errors when they can be verified. Significant updates may also be reflected in the article where appropriate.

Independence and Transparency

ExpertRolex is an independent publication and is not owned, operated, endorsed or authorised by Rolex SA.

References to Rolex trademarks, model names and reference numbers are used for identification and editorial discussion.

If commercial relationships, sponsored content or affiliate links are used on the site, they should be disclosed clearly so readers can distinguish editorial material from commercial content.
